In a heartfelt interview with Filmfare, Wamiqa said, “There was a time when I wanted to give up on acting. I felt I was not meant for this.” The actress described this phase as a turning point in her life — one that ultimately grounded her as she navigated the unpredictable tides of fame and fortune. “Maybe God wanted me to be grounded when he gave me what I’ve always wanted,” she said. “There’s nothing that can blow me away now. I understand how temporary all these things are.”

Wamiqa reflected on the days when she envied those born into the film industry or those who had financial backing. “I wished I were rich so that I could do so much in Mumbai with that money,” she admitted. “Now, when I look back, I thank God for my journey… I would not want to change anything.”

Even amid rising success, she maintains a calm perspective. “Even now, when my dreams are coming true, I’m pretty much relaxed. I understand that my friendships, my relationships, and my family are what are going to matter.”

Speaking about her creative challenges, Wamiqa named Bhool Chuk Maaf as one of her most difficult roles. “I tried comedy for the first time. I was nervous,” she confessed. Despite the nerves, she views each project as a learning curve. “Even if I do another comedy, it will be different and still challenging.”

She also recalled her emotionally demanding role in Khufiya, where she portrayed a mother — a character far from her real-life experience. To connect with the role, she turned to the women in her family and director Vishal Bhardwaj for insight. “He told me to think of my child like I think of my father — the person I love the most. That changed everything for me.”

Wamiqa Gabbi’s journey is a testament to perseverance, self-reflection, and emotional growth. As her star continues to rise, her humility and resilience remain the foundation of her success.
