Herman Dsouza, who has worked as veteran actor Anupam Kher’s manager for nearly two decades, made a notable transition to the screen with a brief but significant role in Tanvi The Great. The 2025 Hindi-language drama, which marks Kher’s directorial return after 22 years, released theatrically on July 18 and features Dsouza in the role of an army officer.

Known for managing logistics and schedules behind the scenes, Dsouza got a chance to explore acting in front of the camera for the first time. His role appears at a pivotal point in the film and marks his formal debut on the silver screen.

Sharing his thoughts on the experience, Dsouza said, “For almost the last 20 years, I have been seeing Anupam sir create magic on screen, but always from behind the lens. But for the first time, I got to live that magic in person as a co-actor in the same frame in Tanvi The Great, and that is a memory I will cherish for my lifetime. The thrill of facing the camera, especially with legends like him and Nassar sir in front of you, is just unmatchable.”

Tanvi The Great has been garnering attention for its emotional narrative and performances. The film is directed by Anupam Kher and produced by Anupam Kher Studio in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

The cast includes Shubhangi Dutt in her debut role as the titular character, alongside Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Boman Irani, Iain Glen, and Nassar in key performances.

With his unexpected entry into the world of acting, Dsouza’s on-screen appearance highlights a lesser-seen journey — from managing talent behind the scenes to briefly sharing the spotlight.
