Sonali Bendre, making a vibrant return to television after a 16-year hiatus from hosting, has candidly revealed that leading the new celebrity couples reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga comes with its fair share of pressure.

In a conversation with ETimes, Bendre—who shares hosting duties with comedian Munawar Faruqui—acknowledged the thrilling yet taxing nature of her role. “I’m truly enjoying doing the show, but I won’t deny that there is a lot of stress involved! Munawar is already familiar with this structure, but it’s all new to me. He’s so quick and sharp with his humour that I wonder if I’ll be able to keep up,” she said
Despite the jitters, Bendre welcomed the challenge. She added, “But, you know what? I enjoy challenges! So I’m going all out. Fingers crossed that not only will the audience like the show, but that they will also enjoy me in my new role.”
Bendre’s decision to sign on was rooted in the show’s thematic emphasis on real and enduring relationships. She revealed her first question to the creators was, “‘Do you actually believe in marriage?’ Because I do. I believe that when couples go through ups and downs, having someone to stick by you every step of the way, that feeling of companionship is priceless,” Sonali explained.
Hosted by the dynamic duo of Bendre and Faruqui, Pati Patni Aur Panga – Jodiyon Ka Reality Check features seven celebrity couples competing in entertaining challenges that explore the depth and resilience of their bonds. The show streams on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) and airs on Colors TV every Saturday and Sunday.
Bendre’s return to the small screen, infused with humour and heartfelt honesty, promises a refreshing and relatable reality series that resonates with today’s audiences.
