Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR attended the much-talked-about War 2 promotional event organized on a grand scale in Hyderabad. First, Akshaye Widhani of Yash Raj Films (YRF) came to speak, followed by director Ayan Mukerji. Finally, both Hrithik and NTR came on stage and it led to a frenzy. The speech by Hrithik increased their excitement.

Hrithik Roshan addressed the fans in Telugu. He then said, “Long back, I shot for Krrish 3 in Hyderabad. That’s when I experienced the hospitality and the warmth of the Telugu people and I am so happy to be back.”

He added, “Tarak (Jr NTR) and I started as co-stars and we ended up like brothers in real life. I want everyone to give me a promise today. I want you to promise me that you will love my brother the same way forever! Because he deserves it (smiles).”

The host asked Hrithik where War 2 fits in his filmography. The superstar replied, “War 2 sits right on top of everything that I have done! The love and appreciation I got for playing Kabir in War (2019) reminded me of the love I got in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000), Dhoom 2 (2006) and Krrish (2006). I humbly hope that you all enjoy Kabir again. This time, he’s even more intense and in a bigger dilemma. Moreover, this time, he’s in front of the real tiger himself! Hence, this would be unmissable.”

When asked about doing action scenes, Hrithik Roshan confessed, “It was difficult. We worked hard and sometimes injured ourselves. But when I saw this man (pointing at NTR) and how strong he is, I could not complain. I was in pain but I saw him and I was like, ‘I am okay’. So, thank you for the inspiration.”

Hrithik also spoke highly of director Ayan Mukerji, “My director has a vision. To see him being happy with a shot took all my pain away.”

Hrithik continued, “I see a lot of myself in Tarak. We have had very similar journeys. I think Tarak sees a little bit of himself in me, also. It is true when they say that he’s a one-take-final-take star. I have learned from him how to go into a shot not 99.9%, not 99.999% but 100%. Which is why when he comes out of a shot, there’s no judgment. He will not even check the shot as he knows that he has given everything to it. I have learned that and I will apply that in my future films. Thank you for teaching me!”

He then told fans, “Do you know how amazing a chef he is? He makes the best food.” Looking at NTR, Hrithik said, “I want a promise from you also. No matter whether or not we do another film, I will always keep tasting your biryani!” Jr NTR was all smiles and he made the promise.

Hrithik Roshan ended his speech by saying, “There are so many things I want to say about this man. But if I go on and on, you guys will throw me out as you want to hear him speak now.”

War 2 releases in cinemas on August 14.
