Music composer Tanishk Bagchi shared the personal journey behind the making of ‘Saiyaara’, the title track featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, which has resonated strongly with audiences nationwide. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama’s Rohit Khilnani, Bagchi spoke in detail about the creative process behind the song.

Speaking about the emotional depth behind the track, music composer Tanishk Bagchi opened up about the collective effort and vulnerability that shaped the project. “I won’t say this is happening for the first time. This song is a product of pain. Every person involved—whether it’s Arslan, Faheem, Mohit Suri, or myself—has poured their deepest pain into it. We’ve given our absolute best. When something is honest, it spreads. There’s nothing dishonest in this entire project,” said Tanishk Bagchi.

In a candid revelation, Tanishk Bagchi opened up about his emotional state during the making of Saiyaara, describing it as one of the most challenging phases of his life. “When Saiyaara was being made, I was in a deep depression. I was taking medication every day, unable to sleep. There was success, everything seemed fine, but how do you control what’s going on inside? I didn’t even know what the pain was about—everything was there, yet something felt off. Life reaches a point of saturation. So many thoughts kept circling in my mind. Everyone involved was going through a similar phase. We would talk about it and share it with each other,” said Tanishk Bagchi.

Describing the emotional atmosphere surrounding the creation of ‘Saiyaara’, Tanishk Bagchi shared how each member of the team was navigating personal struggles while working on the project. “I used to talk to Mohit sir, and he would talk to me. I was constantly in touch with Faheem (Abdullah) because he was going through exams. Arslan (Nizami) was upset because there were a lot of problems at his home. So everywhere, there was pain and hurt. And in the middle of all that, we were creating this song. I think that’s why it spread everywhere,” said Tanishk Bagchi.

Tanishk Bagchi’s title track ‘Saiyaara’ has made a strong impact on the global music scene, topping the Billboard Global 200 and Spotify’s Top Global Songs list. Known for its haunting melody and emotional depth, the track featuring Faheem Abdullah’s vocals has struck a chord with listeners worldwide, marking a significant moment for Indian music.
