“Kartik’s film will be a rage” — Saiyaara’s success creates buzz for Kartik Aaryan’s next, says trade guru Taran Adarsh : Bollywood News

The Devdas-inspired wave of intense love stories seems to have reached a new high with the blockbuster success of Saiyaara. But the romantic genre is far from exhausted. Next up is Anurag Basu’s much anticipated yet untitled film, starring Kartik Aaryan and South sensation Sreeleela.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh believes the overwhelming response to Saiyaara has only heightened interest in forthcoming love stories. “Every film has its own destiny. That said, a love story — if made well — always holds a special place in the hearts of audiences. The collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and Anurag Basu, coming together for the very first time, is bound to raise expectations. More so because the blockbuster success of Saiyaara has sparked renewed curiosity around upcoming love stories,” Adarsh observed.

He went on to express high hopes for Kartik’s upcoming project. “This Kartik Aaryan film is particularly special — from what I hear, it’s an intense love story — and the fresh pairing of Kartik and Sreeleela adds further intrigue. While the film is still in production and awareness is currently limited, there’s little doubt that once it nears release, if the music and narrative strike a chord, it could well become a rage at the box office. Kartik enjoys a massive youth following, while Sreeleela is already an established name in South Indian cinema. Together, they make for a striking and exciting pair.”

Adding his perspective, producer and trade analyst Girish Johar took a more measured stance: “Actually, there is no direct correlation between Saiyaara and Kartik Aaryan’s film. That’s a different film altogether. Kartik’s film will be judged solely on its own merit — its music, trailer, and promotions. Yes, the genre of Saiyaara, youth romance, will help, but that’s always been the case with Indian audiences. We love musical romances, day in and day out.”

As the industry eagerly awaits the unveiling of the title and trailer, all eyes are now on Kartik and Basu’s cinematic interpretation of star-crossed love — a theme that clearly continues to resonate with Indian audiences.
